Aretha Franklin Sits Down For A Chat With ET Canada
As far as music royalty goes, there are few artists on the planet with a (regal) resumé that can hope to rival The Queen of Soul.
ET Canada sat down for an interview with the legendary Aretha Franklin when she popped by Toronto to perform at Roy Thomson Hall. The R&B superstar shared her thoughts on a variety of subjects and provided a bit of inside info on what fans can expect from her new album. (Hint: She expects it to be unlike any Aretha record that's come before it.)
"This is going to be something you haven't heard," revealed the "Think" hitmaker. "It's a concept album. And it's what Mr. (Clive) Davis wants."
Aretha also commented on the possibility that she might be pursuing legal action over a story published on a satirical news website that presented a scenario where Aretha and Patti LaBelle got into a fist fight. The star confirmed that it's something that she and her attorney are looking into.
According to Aretha, there's zero truth to the News Nerd story.
"That was ridiculous! That is the craziest thing I have ever heard," said the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. "Patti and I are cool! We always have been. I've known Patti for years, many years."
