Jimmy Fallon got his start on Saturday Night Live, and now the late-night funnyman will be returning to the stage of Studio 8H to host the annual Christmas show on Dec. 21. This will mark Fallon's fifth time as host since he left SNL in 2004.

It's a well-timed move, in advance of the February transition that will see Jay Leno hand over The Tonight Show to Fallon while current SNL Weekend Update anchor (and head writer) Seth Meyers takes over for Fallon as host of Late Night. As icing on the cake, the musical guest for Fallon's episode will be longtime pal Justin Timberlake, practically ensuring a return appearance of The Barry Gibb Talk Show.

In addition, NBC has announced the rest of SNL's hosts for the month of December: Paul Rudd will make his third appearance as host on Dec. 7, joined by wildly popular boy band One Direction; on Dec. 14, former Roseanne star John Goodman returns for his 13th time as SNL host, welcoming musical guest Kings of Leon.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays on Global.
