'True Blood' Cast Covers Entertainment Weekly
Any good Trubie will know, waiting sucks, but after this Sunday’s Season 5 Premiere, True Blood fans will finally have a new season to sink their teeth into.
To kick off Season 5 of the HBO hit show, Entertainment Weekly shot not one, but 11 collector covers featuring the irresistible inhabitants of Bon Temps and an exclusive sit down with creator Alan Ball.
When penning the fifth season of True Blood, the scary yet disarmingly sarcastic vampire drama, Alan found inspiration for newcomer Christopher Meloni’s character Roman Zimojic by watching the presidential primaries.
“My first instinct about going into religion and politics was from watching Michele Bachmann, who thinks she has a direct line to God,” Alan tells the magazine. “What would happen if she became president? A lot of right-wingers would like to see a theocracy in America. From there we thought, ‘What would a vampire theocracy be and how would you justify it? What kind of impact would it have on humans?’”
The result? A battle between the True Blood sipping Authority and religious extremists like the Sanguinistas, who believe humans were created by God for one purpose only: to serve as a hearty meal.
