Global Announces Star-Studded Fall TV Lineup
Ahead of Shaw Media's upfronts in Toronto today, Global has announced a roster of new fall TV shows that will bring plenty of brand new star power to the network. Matthew Perry, Lucy Liu, Ricki Lake, Kyle MacLachlan and many more familiar faces are set to join Global's 2012 fall lineup.
Primetime is about to heat up with former "Friends" star, Matthew, starring as a recently widowed sportscaster who is forced to undergo group therapy in "Go On". He's no stranger to Global after recently guest-starring on "The Good Wife" with Julianna Margulies.
"Elementary" is a new modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes with Jonny Lee Miller to star as the famed detective and Lucy Liu as Dr. Watson.
And Sin City takes centre stage in the new series, "Vegas", starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis in the 1960s set police drama. "Made In Jersey" is a new legal drama featuring Kyle MacLachlan, Stephanie March and Janet Montgomery.
"Chicago Fire" also sees a familiar Global face, with "House"'s Jesse Spencer in the leading role swapping his scrubs for a Chicago firefighter uniform. And "Guys With Kids" is a new comedy executive produced by Jimmy Fallon, focusing on three fathers adapting to parenthood. Scroll below to watch the previews!
Meanwhile, Global also welcomes two new Daytime Talk Shows, including "The Jeff Probst Show" and "The Ricki Lake Show" this September.
Ricki is set to return to Daytime when the "Ricki Lake Show" debuts on Global and she talks all about it with our very own Cheryl Hickey on ET Canada tonight. Although Oprah has left a big hole after "The Oprah Winfrey Show" went off the air, Ricki says "I'm not here to replace her, nobody can. I have no intention of doing that."
But Ricki promises her show will be all about interacting with the audience: "It's really about having a conversation. The set is designed so that the audience is a part of it. It's not just the stage and this disconnect."
You can take part in one of Ricki's new show's production meetings on Thursday starting at 7 p.m. ET below.
