Prince Harry Will Return to America
Prince Harry fans should get ready for his royal return to America.
Clarence House confirmed earlier today that the Prince will be visiting Washington DC on May 7 to receive the Atlantic Council’s 2012 Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership.
The honour recognizes the Prince’s charitable work on behalf of military veterans, servicemen and women, as well as their families.
Harry, 27, who was in California and Arizona last year for Apache helicopter training, has issued a statement stressing that he will be accepting the award on behalf of “his brother, The Duke of Cambridge, and their joint work through the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.”
The young royal has also worked with charities such as Walking with the Wounded and Help for Heroes, and caused quite a stir at this weekend’s London Marathon when he told the BBC that his brother and sister-in-law were planning to run the race next year.
Clarence House clarified Prince Harry’s statement on Monday, saying his comments “were said in jest.”
