Kelly Clarkson Talks The Pregnancy Complications That Almost Ended Her Career

By ET CANADA

Our 10th-season celebration continues with another of Cheryl's 1-on-1s with powerful celebs who inspire her. Tonight it's Cheryl's sit-down with Kelly Clarkson, whose upcoming album Piece By Piece just might be her most personal yet. Afterall, she was pregnant during the recording. And after becoming a mom, the singer panicked when she thought she had lost her voice for good.

"Afterwards was the part where I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day," Kelly admits. "I was like, 'Oh God, I'm not going to be a singer anymore.'... I was bawling to my husband and completely hammered, just going, 'Oh my God, it's over. I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess I could do more charity work.' I didn't know what I was going to do."

Kelly's vocal scare was just one of the pregnancy-related complications she had with daughter River Rose, whom she welcomed last June with husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock.
