Carly Rae Jepsen And Roz Take Over The Bahamas

By CRAIG MACRAE

Carly Rae Jepsen is having quite the week - nominated for five Juno Awards, chillin in the Bahamas with us - what could be better?!

Taking a mini break, mixed in with some work, Carly was writing new lyrics in her room while soaking up a little bit of sun at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.

But at night it was time to entertain! She hit the stage to a packed house of screaming fans that just couldn't get enough of the B.C. native!

Now there's no question Carly has had an unbelievable year musically, but she's also hand an amazing one personally after finding a new boyfriend in musician Matthew Koma.

And while she never addressed him straight out, of course, she did open up after Roz asked her about those famous lyrics: "before you came into my life I missed you so bad."

"So since that line from Call Me Maybe became popular how many guys tried to be "that guy?" asked Roz.

Carly reveals that the one and only guy who has tried to be that guy since that song skyrocketed her to fame, is her beau. "Only one successfully," she admits. "Yep I have been very blessed in that part of my life. It's kind of crazy, you always have that theory that one part of your life works, like your career, and then the other just falls to the wastelands. But I've been in this strange year where I can't really complain about any of it. It's really something, I want to knock on wood as I say that, cause next year is going to be a doozy."

So now that she's found that special someone... has she figured out love? "Love is one of those things that is like life, you can discuss it until the cows come home and be like what's the meaning?" she says. "I can definitely say that I know what love is and I can say it's a fascination of mine and always has been and always will be. My whole team teases me because I'll meet someone new and the first thing I will want to know is all about their love story because I am very inspired by it, it's what I write about mostly in my music and I think there are so many levels and complexities to the subject. I mean you look back at all the great poets, artists and painters who have been obsessed with the subject and I feel like I am not alone."
