Selena Gomez And Taylor Swift To Collaborate?

By KATE MORAWETZ

Selena Gomez has had a busy start to the New Year, and that's likely not going to stop.  With her new movie Spring Breakers hitting theatres soon, the young star showed that her impending fame hasn't changed her willingness to give back.

Selena took to the stage this weekend at a Unicef benefit concert to perform a stripped-down version of best friend Taylor Swift's recent hit single, "I Knew You Were Trouble".  Speaking of Taylor, Selena couldn't help but gush over her bestie on the red carpet, dropping a bomb that would scare any ex-boyfriends of the duo... and future ones too!

On whether or not the two will ever hit the recording studio together, Selena said, "I want to. We should," adding that the penultimate breakup ballad could already be in the works saying, "I'm actually recording right now, and she's actually recording too right now."

But Selena was tight-lipped about her new music saying, "I'm not saying too much about my music" because she's excited about "surprising people" which is the reason her acoustic show for the benefit was "a couple of covers."  And although Selena had little to say about her new original tunes, the covers that she chose for the show said it all.

Telling the crowd "I've been through a lot the past few months. It's been weird and sad and cool," adding, "this song definitely speaks to me" before belting out a cover of Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River."

And Selena isn't the only young singer who's performed this as a cover in the past little while. Her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber sang his own version of the ultimate revenge song back in November, baring a lot more than his heart over the weekend when he tweeted out this photo with the caption "#moon.”

So what do you think, would a Selena Gomez-Taylor Swift collaboration be something you'd listen to?  And who do you think did a better cover of JT's famous revenge song - Selena or Justin?  Tweet us your thoughts!
